The End of Wedding Central

When you've been living in "wedding central" for months on end, it's kind of fun to see it come to an end! It's more fun when it comes to the end with a beautiful celebration of the joining of lives of two very special people.

And so, without further ado, I present a few pictures that capture yesterday, at least in part. If you're wanting to see more, you can check out the album I put on facebook here.

With T. at the post ceremony, pre-reception tea at the church. He can make faces like no one else. In this case, he's pouting because his "heart" (cookie) is broken!

T. and I with Mom and Dad in the sanctuary of the church, after the ceremony.

The roommates! J and I have lived together for the last two years. L. joined us a year ago, and is still living with me. In this picture I'm not only the shortest, but also the only non Kiwi!

Heading out...

I've eaten breakfast.

I'm mostly packed.

Within the next half an hour I'm headed out the door to pick up my brother and go to the wedding that made my home "wedding central" for so much of the last year.

As I said yesterday, I'm not totally excited about the prospect, but I'm praying for a beautiful time anyway.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Evening...

I had dinner with a friend I went to high school with, and then we went to see a movie.

I'm totally spent. I think this week has been longer, and has taken more of a toll on me than I thought.

I'm wishing I could rest for the weekend.

Instead I'm going to a wedding where I'll know hardly anyone who isn't in the wedding party. Cause what I really need right now is the sort of event where you celebrate with your friends. I need an event like that to underscore how lonely I've been feeling.

I'm staying in the big city north of here tomorrow night, sharing a hotel room with my mom.

We'll be home sometime on Sunday, and then, then I'll need to build a bed frame, so that the unpacking can start in earnest.

I'm praying it will rain again soon. I could use the washing clean these days.

I'm praying for peace, for a heart that is somehow able to quiet and rest. For myself, and for so many others I care for.

Tired of moving?

Are you tired of hearing about my move yet? I'm getting tired of the unpacking thing, and there's a long way to go still...

My mom came over for a bit this afternoon, to help me go through some things and do a bit of unpacking. Two thirds of my books are now on shelves, and I pared the selection down just a little bit more. Once I buy a bed frame (hopefully early next week) I'll be able to really make progress on the sorting and unpacking.

In the meantime, I've declared tomorrow to be a day off from all things unpacking (at least that's the plan). I need to paint both my fingernails and toenails for the wedding I'm attending on Saturday. Since I have plans for Friday evening to have dinner and see a movie with a friend, that makes tomorrow the night for all things pampering for Saturday related.

I'm still struggling with a few health issues. And my energy levels remain quite low. I'll be glad for a bit of down time.

I've been quite lonely this week too. Missing some of the people I care about deeply. And missing having meaningful contact with the people who know my heart well.

Trying to rest, wait, watch, and pray. Longing for freedom to ever increase.

Wedding Central Again

We're now officially in the last month before the roommate wedding.

And tonight our house has been taken over by bridesmaids needing their dresses fitted.

Lots of giggling, and comments about weight and shoes, and what bra is the right one to wear under the dress.

It's wedding central again, and for the moment, I'm more amused than stressed by it. Let's pray that it stays that way for the rest of the month, especially when the stress of the impeding move starts stacking up as well!
